It's just us 2 chickies...

Here... the girls got off just fine on the plane, made it there great and now are in Nevada having a great time with their cousins and their grandparents, my parents. They've been swimming, 4 wheeling, fishing and going all different kinds of places. I am so happy they got to go out there this summer.

Jamie and I have been hanging out at the pool and the house for the last few days. We are sure missing the girls but it's been very nice.

I haven't got much time for sewing lately..I have also been working, cleaning houses which is a nice bit of extra money. I am half done on a few things, need to get motivated!!

And guess what? In August my walmart will have NO MORE fabric..just a craft celebration center. Whoopie.. thanks walmart.
Ok, this really stinks!! We have no fabric stores anywhere but a hour ride away so...I don't know what I'll do. It really is stupid, but what can we .....the little customers who don't matter do??
Anyway, gotta get back to Jamie hope you all are enjoying your summer!

Our WalMart discontinued all their fabric also. I have resorted to cutting up clothes in my closet when I need a certain piece!! But maybe this is not a bad thing?!! Take care ~Natalie

I sure feel your loss with no fabric. There are some place near, but to get good quality quilt fabric in the prim designs, I have to drive 1.5 hours too. It's awful. I have to stock up when I go and save up money. :) Until later, enjoy the rest of your week.

Our Walmart did the same this past year. Guess, they think no one sews anymore. I don't do a lot of sewing but I love fabic and sort of collect it. I enjoyed looking at the fabic at Walmart but now it is a thing of the past. Bet your girls will have a great time with their grandparents. Was the plane trip their first?
I know the feeling of giving your little Chick'a dees room to fly...I am a huge "Worry Wart"(hate to admit it but it's true) and have to turn my concerns over to God many times. Even now with my grown children. My youngest is seventeen and working this summer. He is staying with his older brother through the week. He call yesterday saying he wanted to buy a gun. I did not want to give in but my older son got on the phone and said Mom,Jay isn't 12 years old anymore. I thought to myself Oh yes,I forgot again!(smile)He is almost grown now...It's so hard as a mother to let go of your childrens hands and let them venture on their own...I have had to do it four times and everytime was as hard as the first! God's grace is sufficent and I truly trust him to be their caretaker....and I know its all in his plan for children to grow and become indepentant of their parents. Guess I will stop there. So, sorry I didn't mean to write a book........LOL

Blessings,Shelley

Same here as far as Wal-Mart. Luckily, I live near lots of fabric stores, but will miss those W-M prices.

Hope you have a great 4th! ~~Annie

Hey Melissa!! It's been a LONG time!! Remember me from PM?!
I'm not a happy camper with wal-mart either. While it's not my fave place, it's the ONLY place I can find Poly-Fil (I do not like the walmart brand stuffing). We have a hobby lobby 25 minutes away, but their fabric stinks & they carry no poly-fil (I have to get the big boxes). The best wal-mart craft department was about 35 minutes away from here in a town where I have a booth in an emporium. Well, the lady told me in May the fabric was moving out in August. So I go in 2 weeks later and every STITCH of it is gone!! Ugh! I had bought quite a bit when that lady told me, but since she said I had a few months, I was going to gradually stock up. WTHeck?! I don't know what us small peas are going to do! Wal-Mart moves into towns & closes the small stores ~ fabric shops, etc. ~ and then THEY do away with those things....Ok, ok, off my soap box! Hope you have a wonderful summer!! :)Keep on creatin'!
Hugs,
lisa
